government spending - not just from a governmental perspective - but also from the perspective of taxpayers. In other words, we want to tell you how a particular measure will affect government services and how it will impact family budgets.
A measure that lowers taxes, for example, will reduce government revenue, but will also put more money in the pockets of taxpayers. Will that impact be the same for all taxpayers regardless of their income level? Will the impact be different for taxpayers in different income brackets or who itemize deductions? Many such questions arise. Our goal is to provide accurate answers and do so in a manner that will be easily understood by folks who may not possess a sophisticated understanding of accounting or tax law.
American Tax Research Foundation has begun to undertake its mission starting in the western part of the United States. As resources grow, so will our efforts. We take no position supporting or opposing the measures we research. We do our best to insure that the information we provide is both accurate and neutral.
American Tax Research Foundation is pleased to announce that we will soon be adding tax research data for all the U.S. States, with a breath of data pertaining to the west coast States, Oregon, California and Washington. It has been a long process to reach this point, but we are making progress and will soon be uploading new data on a regular basis.
